Champions Tour
Itinerary: Tavullia, Morciano di Romagna, Montescudo, Montecolombo, Coriano, Misano Adriatico, Gradara, Tavullia
Motorcycle racing and cycling are two passions that coexist in close contact with each other in these borderlands between Romagna and Marche. This is how the idea of a permanent cycling tourism itinerary capable of connecting these territories between the coast and the hinterland emerged. Along the splendid landscapes of the Marche and Romagna hills, the itinerary follows in the footsteps of the great champions who left traces of themselves in these lands: Rossi, Simoncelli, Hayden, Morbidelli, Marini and many others. The route starts in Tavullia and passes through the picturesque villages of Morciano di Romagna, Montescudo, Montecolombo and Coriano. We continue towards Misano Adriatico and its circuit, finally returning to Tavullia, after a visit to Gradara and its castle.
Curiosities
The champions of Tavullia and Coriano
On the historic walls at the entrance to Tavullia, there is a large welcome banner depicting a special citizen: Valentino Rossi. In fact, the nine-time world champion was born in this picturesque village between the sea and the mountains. Coriano, on the other hand, was the home of Marco Simoncelli. In this quiet country town surrounded by vines, olive groves and farmhouses, a few kilometres from the sea, stands “The story of Sic” museum, dedicated to the late champion, who was nicknamed “Sic”.
