Round trip, starting and returning in Ferrara, with bike-boat intermodality. The route includes a ride through the rich Ferrara’s countryside and Delizie del Belriguardo and del Verginese visit. Finally, from Chiusa di Sabbioncello, return to Ferrara by boat on Po di Volano.

Sunday 28th August 2022 and Sunday 25th September 2022

9.00 a.m. – Meeting at Ferrara’s Darsena, possible bike rental. Bike start; once crossed the city centre, you’ll exit the city flanking the ancient Walls. Once crossed Ferrara’s countryside (around 19km), you’ll arrive in Voghiera.
10.30 a.m. – Delizia del Belriguardo’s external guided tour, one of the well-known Estensi’s residences and the first ever built outside Ferrara’s Walls. It’s since always the richest and most luxuous one, and it’s even called Estensi’s Versailles.
11.30 a.m. – At the end you’ll continue for Delizia del Verginese (8 km) and external guided tour. Formerly farmhouse, Verginese was converted in ducal residence at the beginning of the XVI century by Alfonso I d’Este. At the outside has been built a garden near the Delizia, called brolo, filled during the Renaissance by flowers and fruit trees.
1.30 p.m. – Arrival at Agriturismo Ai Due Laghi where you can lunch at the restaurant or eat your packed lunch and relax in this wonderful natural oasis.
3.00 p.m. – Departure to Chiusa di Sabbioncello (15 km) (On the 4th June the departure will be at 2.00 p.m. to Villa Mensa, with visit)
4.00 p.m. – Departure on boat on Po di Volano
6.30 p.m. – Arrival to Ferrara’s Darsena.
